Quilting enthusiasts, young and old, male and female, roamed the Greene County Fairgrounds last weekend for the biennial Greene County Quilt Show. A good-sized crowd enjoyed viewing the large variety of quilts on display in two buildings.
Vendors were on site giving presentations while Scranton native Holly Hedges Carter presented a program daily on her scrap quilt “addiction”.
The Greene County Quilt Show was hosted by the Greene County Chamber of Commerce and the Greene County Fair Association in collaboration with the Stitch. The event is scheduled again on Aug. 24-26, 2018.
Jan Scharingson of Grand Junction (right) volunteered her time to assist the viewers in one of the buildings. To protect the display, no touching was allowed without wearing gloves (a standard procedure at quilt shows.)
